The little Ireland with big spaces ... beautiful walks in the surroundings

The incomparable asset of the Hague: GR 223. To discover or rediscover !

The lighthouse of Goury

You can't miss it ! 50 meters high, a robust cylindrical tower made of granite stones, it dominates the Port of Goury with its light and its power...

And above all, admire the environment that surrounds it!

In the distance and in front of you, the Channel Island of Alderney.

Located 800 meters off the coast of La Hague, this lighthouse is a perfect invitation for your pictures, which will mix land and sea in a place so resourcing that reminds Ireland with its stone walls and its sheep.

But at night, it also saves lives and boats, because the "Raz Blanchard" is always present and dangerous.

Le raz Blanchard

It is one of the most powerful currents in Europe !

It is particularly feared by sailors for the violence of its storms during bad weather on the coast. Sailors have a specific map to pass it with very precise schedules. A few minutes of delay can cause a catastrophe.

Hence the presence of the nearby Search and Rescue team, the only one in France with the particularity of being able to go out at low or high tide and in all weathers.

The bay of Ecalgrain

The beach at the foot of the cliffs, with a view of the Nose of Jobourg, is the closest and most accessible to Auderville. Mixing pebbles and sand, it is the delight of many tourists and locals.

It is a remarkable site of the Cotentin, located at the west of the peninsula. Its name comes from the mills that were once perched there. The panorama overhanging the beach from the hamlet of Laye is breathtaking. It is a popular take-off point for paragliders.

The Nose of Jobourg

The Nose of Jobourg is, after the Mont-Saint-Michel, the most visited place in the region. Its cliffs are among the highest in continental Europe.

A fantastic scenery !

In the fantastic scenery of the Cap de la Hague, 128 meters above the sea, the Nose of Jobourg rises up. The view extends to the cape of Flamanville and in the distance, towards the horizon, the island of Aurigny stands out.

Whether the sun is shining, raining or windy, the show will always be a pure and simple encounter with the power of the elements and the beauty of nature. As you walk along the customs path, you will see nature in all its forms. The end of the world is like that.

The beach of Vauville

Surfers' favorite, a beach of fine sand 11 km long !

The botanical garden of Vauville

A true feat of nature, the Botanical Garden of Vauville is distinguished by its collection of rare evergreen plants and trees. Throughout the year it offers a panorama whose colors blend with the sea but also the wild moors that dominate the site.

In the footsteps of the passionate and talented landscape architect Guillaume Pellerin who conceived with his wife Cléophée de Turckheim the garden as you can admire it today, their son Eric Pellerin continues to embellish this setting and is happy to welcome you throughout the season to share his passion.
